The common number bingo formats

75-ball bingo uses a 5x5 card under the letters B-I-N-G-O: B holds 1-15, I 16-30, N 31-45, G 46-60 and O 61-75, and the center square is free. That layout allows 552,446,474,061,128,648,601,600,000 different cards. 90-ball bingo, common in the UK, uses tickets of 3 rows and 9 columns with 15 numbers, five in each row; the first column holds 1-9 and the last 80-90, and games are played for one line, two lines and a full house.

30-ball speed bingo uses a 3x3 card with the numbers 1 to 30, and 80-ball cards are 4x4 with one column for each block of 20 numbers. Classroom ranges from 1-10 to 1-60 help younger children practice reading and recognizing numbers, and the 1-100 and 0-99 cards use the same numbers as a hundreds chart. Every page in this index counts its cards exactly, gives the chances of a line at several points in the game and simulates how many calls the first winner needs with 1 to 100 cards in play.

How many number cards to print

Print one card per player and a few spares for late arrivals; some groups let each player hold two or three cards, which shortens the game because more cards are in play. Every card in a generated set is different, and the caller sheet lists each number once in shuffled order, with the column letter in front of it for 75-ball games ("B 7", "N 42"). Tick the numbers as you read them so you can check a winning card in seconds.
