Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Bingo Card Lab (bingocardlab.app) handles when you use it. The short version: there are no accounts, the bingo cards are made in your browser, the words you type are not sent to us, and we keep only anonymous page statistics.
Your word lists and cards
The bingo card generator runs entirely on your device. The words you paste, the title you choose, the cards it shuffles, the caller sheet and the PDF you download are all made by your browser. None of it is uploaded to our servers or shared with anyone, and it is gone when you close the page unless you print it, download it or save it yourself.
A share link carries your words, grid, card count and seed in the web address itself, so the same set can be rebuilt on another computer. Anyone you send that link to can read the words in it, and, like every web address, it passes through the hosting provider when it is opened. Only share a link to a list you are happy for others to see.
Saved word lists, a Pro feature, are stored in your browser's local storage on this device only. They never leave it, and clearing the site data in your browser deletes them.
Anonymous usage statistics
When a page loads, a small first-party script records an event containing the site name, the page path, the referring page (origin and path only, no query string), the event type (page view, generator use, Pro interest or checkout click), a timestamp and a random visit identifier. The visit identifier is generated in your browser, kept in session storage (not a cookie), replaced every day and gone when you close the tab; it only lets us count distinct visits. The script sets no cookies, sends none of your words or card contents, and records no name, e-mail or device identifier. These events are stored in Google Cloud Firestore, operated by Google as our processor, and are used only to understand which pages and themes are useful. Like any web request, the connection exposes your IP address to the hosting and storage providers; we do not store it in the events.
No third-party analytics, advertising or social media scripts run on this site.
Pro early-access list
If you join the Pro early-access list, we store the e-mail address you enter, your optional answers (what would make Pro worth it and what you would pay), the site name, a timestamp and the random visit identifier, in Google Cloud Firestore. We use your address for one purpose only: to e-mail you once when Pro opens, with the founder price you reserved. We do not send newsletters, sell or share the list, and the list cannot be read from the website. To be removed, write to the address that will be listed on the contact page; none is published yet.
Payments
No payment is taken on this site today. When Pro opens, checkout will happen on Stripe's secure pages: Stripe will collect your payment details and share with us only what is needed for receipts, refunds and support. We will never see or store your full card number, and this section will be updated before that happens.
Data stored in your browser
The site keeps a few small values in your browser's local storage: your light or dark display choice, your saved word lists if you use them, and, after a Pro purchase, a Pro flag and your checkout reference so that Pro stays active without an account. Nothing in local storage is sent to us. You can remove all of it at any time by clearing the site data in your browser.
Hosting
The site is served by Google Firebase Hosting, which processes standard request data such as IP address, user agent and the requested address to deliver pages and protect against abuse.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal data we hold about you, which in practice is limited to an early-access e-mail address or purchase and support records. No contact address is published yet; once one is listed on the contact page, requests sent to it will be answered within 30 days.
Children and classrooms
Teachers use the generator with their classes, but children do not need to type anything into it: the cards are printed by the adult running the game. The site does not ask for, and does not knowingly collect, personal information from children.
Related documents
The rules for using the site and the cards are in the terms of use; what the Pro upgrade includes is on the pricing page; and how the site is run is explained on the about page.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
