0-99 bingo cards
A 0-99 bingo card is a 5x5 grid of 24 numbers around a free center, with B 0-19, I 20-39, N 40-59, G 60-79 and O 80-99. It practices two-digit place value: each tens digit from 0 to 9 appears exactly ten times. About 1.39 nonillion different cards exist; with 30 in play, the first line comes around call 28.

How 0-99 cards are laid out
Columns have fixed ranges: B 0-19, I 20-39, N 40-59, G 60-79 and O 80-99. The middle column gets 4 numbers because the center is free; the others get 5. A card covers 24% of the values 0 to 99, so a given card is marked on only about one call in 4.2 and games run long.
In our 400 simulated games with 30 cards, the first straight line fell at call 28 and the first full card (blackout) at call 88, out of 100 possible calls from 0 to 99.
How to make 0-99 bingo cards by hand
- Draw a 5x5 grid for each 0-99 card and write B, I, N, G, O above the columns, with FREE in the center square.
- Fill each column from its own range: 5 from 0-19 under B, 5 from 20-39 under I, 4 from 40-59 under N, 5 from 60-79 under G and 5 from 80-99 under O, never repeating a number.
- Each 0-99 card now holds 24 of the 100 values. Compare new cards with the ones you have made, since two identical cards would win together.
- Write 0 to 99 on 100 slips (or print the caller sheet) and draw them one at a time, calling the column letter with each number.
0-99 bingo compared with 1-100 bingo
0-99 bingo and 1-100 bingo have identical chances (100 values, 24 per card), so the gap between the simulated medians (call 28 here, 27 there) is chance; the differences are the numbers players read and the column ranges.

Chances of a line in 0-99 bingo
The exact chances in 0-99 bingo match 1-100 bingo: both call from 100 values (here 0 to 99) and fill 24 squares per card, so the chance that a given 0-99 line of 5 has been completed by call 50 is 3%, and its last number comes at call 84.2 on average, k × (100 + 1) ÷ (k + 1).
What differs is what players read: here the caller draws 0 to 99, there 1 to 100. A full card of 24 needs about 97 calls on its own; with 30 cards the first full card came at call 88 in our runs.
How many calls until the first bingo
400 simulated games per row with cards from this page's generator; a card wins on any full row, column or diagonal. The range covers 8 games out of 10.
| Cards in play | Median calls | Range (10th-90th percentile) | Share of the numbers called |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 card | 56 | 39-74 | 56% |
| 10 cards | 34 | 23-45 | 34% |
| 30 cards | 28 | 19-35 | 28% |
| 100 cards | 21 | 15-27 | 21% |
How many 0-99 cards per person
Start with one card per player; keen players can take two or three. In our runs a card on its own needed 56 calls for a line, while the first line among 10 cards came at call 34, among 30 at call 28 and among 100 at call 21.
So for 0-99 bingo, 10 players with 3 cards each, or 15 players with 2 each, should expect a winner around call 28 of 100; a class of 30 with one card each gives the same figure.
That spread (28 calls between one card and thirty) is large for a 100-number game, so giving keen players 2 or 3 cards each speeds things up noticeably without changing the chances for anyone holding the same number of cards.
What is in the 0-99 set
- 50 even and 50 odd numbers between 0 and 99.
- By length: 10 with one digit and 90 with two digits; mixing lengths is good place-value practice.
- 25 prime numbers in the set: 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13 … 97.
- Square numbers: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25, 36, 49, 64 and 81 (9 of 100).
- Multiples of ten: 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90, a quick landmark for players scanning their card.
- Numbers with a repeated digit: 11, 22, 33, 44, 55, 66, 77, 88 and 99 (9 of 100).

How to play 0-99 bingo
-
Make the cards
Generate cards above (free up to 30 per set, all different) and print one per player; a single card already finds a line in about 56 calls.
-
Prepare the calls
Print the caller sheet: 0 to 99 (100 numbers) in a shuffled order, each with its column letter (B 0, O 99).
-
Call and mark
Read each number twice and cross it off the caller board. Expect the first line around call 28 with 30 cards.
-
Check the winner
Ask the winner to read back their line; every number must be on your board. A blackout needs all 24 numbers; with 30 cards that took 88 calls in our runs.
