About Kindness Challenge bingo

Kindness Challenge Bingo is a card of small good deeds, from “Hold the door” and “Lend a pencil” to “Write a thank-you note”, “Sit with someone new” and “Donate canned food”. It is designed for a kindness week at school, a family challenge over the holidays or a workplace campaign, and every square is something a child or adult can do in a day.

On a 5x5 card with a free center, Kindness Challenge bingo shows 24 of the 41 tasks, so each one lands on about 59% of the cards: in a set of 30, “Hold the door” or “Say thank you” appears on roughly 18 cards. Card 1 leaves out 17 of them, including “Hold the door”, “Say thank you” and “Smile at someone new”, so no single card can mark everything.

There is no caller: each player marks a square once they have done it, such as “Write a thank-you note” or “Make a card”, over an agreed week or month. A line takes 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center); a full card takes all 24.

How to play Kindness Challenge bingo

  1. Print the Kindness Challenge cards

Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with “Sit with someone new”, “Apologize sincerely”, “Be kind to yourself”, “Visit a neighbor” and “Donate a toy”.

  2. Agree on the time frame

Each player marks a square once it is done, such as “Write a thank-you note” or “Make a card”. Set the period first (a week, a month, a season); a line needs 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center) and a full card all 24.

  3. Run it for a week and let children mark squares at home and at school, then share one deed from their card in a morning circle.

  4. Pair the card with a class kindness jar: each marked square, like “Thank a bus driver”, adds a token toward a group reward.

  5. Leave “Be kind to yourself” in the center as the free space so children learn that self-kindness counts too.

  6. Check the card

Ask the winner what they did for each square on the line. A full card is 24 of the 41 tasks; card 1 of this set, for example, includes “Sit with someone new” and “Apologize sincerely”.

Kindness Challenge bingo variations

  • Kindness Challenge variation

Secret kindness: players draw a classmate's name and complete three squares for that person during the week without being caught; the reveal happens on Friday.

  • Blackout round

Card 1 needs all 24 tasks, “Sit with someone new” to “Let someone go first”; over a 30-day month that is about 5.6 tasks a week.

  • Quick 4x4 round

A 4x4 card has 16 squares and no free space, so a full card needs 16 tasks instead of 24; lines take 4.

First 15 entries on the Kindness Challenge caller sheet

Seed "kindness-challenge" gives this order, the same one the caller sheet prints (use it as a checklist, or call from it). With these entries in this order, card 17 of the first 30 completes the diagonal from the top left (“Make a card”, “Thank a bus driver”, “Share a snack” and “Teach someone a skill”) on entry 17, and card 14 is the first full card on entry 38.

Frequently asked questions

How many tasks are on the Kindness Challenge bingo list?

41, from Apologize sincerely to Write to a soldier. A 5x5 card with a free center uses 24 of them, so each card leaves out 17. The shortest entry is Give a hug (10 characters) and the longest is Write a thank-you note (22).

Are all Kindness Challenge bingo cards the same?

No. Card 1 and card 2 of this set share 18 of their 24 squares, and every card is checked so none of the 30 in a free set repeats. About 9.41 × 10³⁴ different arrangements are possible from the 41 tasks (151,584,480,450 different selections of 24).

How many Kindness Challenge bingo cards per person?

One card per player: each card is a personal checklist of 24 tasks. A free set of 30 cards covers 30 players, and New shuffle makes another set for a bigger group.

How do you play Kindness Challenge bingo?

There is no caller: each player marks a square once they have done it, such as “Write a thank-you note” or “Make a card”, over an agreed week or month. A line takes 5 squares (4 on a line through the free center); a full card takes all 24.

Can I print Kindness Challenge bingo cards for free?

Yes. The generator above makes up to 30 cards (5x5 cards with a free center) from the 41 tasks; Print cards sends them to your printer and Download PDF saves one card per page, so 30 cards take 30 pages plus the caller sheet. It all runs in your browser with no sign-up.

How do I make my own Kindness Challenge bingo cards?

Start from this list: the 41 tasks are already in the generator, so delete “Return a cart” or any other entry, type your own one per line and the cards update as you type. Keep at least 24 entries for 5x5 cards (16 for 4x4); the share link reprints exactly the same set.
