About Continents and Oceans bingo
Continents and Oceans Bingo starts with the seven continents and five oceans, then adds the seas, straits, canals and lines of latitude that connect them, such as the “Strait of Gibraltar”, the “Suez Canal” and the “Tropic of Capricorn”. It is built for second- to fifth-grade map lessons and for ESL learners who need the English words for big geographic features.
This Continents and Oceans list is 39 entries long and a 5x5 card with a free center takes 24, which leaves 15 off each card. That is why one entry (Asia, say) appears on about 18 of 30 cards: card 1, for instance, has no Africa or Antarctica.
A host reads out one entry at a time from the printed caller sheet (all 39 of them, shuffled); players daub the square if their card has it and call bingo on a full line.

How to host Continents and Oceans bingo
-
Print the Continents and Oceans cards
Give each player one card; a free set prints up to 30, no two alike. Card 1 above starts with Caribbean Sea, Black Sea, Pacific Ocean, Europe and Bay of Bengal.
-
Print the caller sheet
All 39 entries appear on it in shuffled order, opening with Australia, Pacific Ocean, South China Sea, Europe and Hudson Bay; tick each one as you read it out.
-
Play the first round with only the twelve continent and ocean squares called, then add seas and canals in round two once players know where “Asia” and the “Indian Ocean” are.
-
Keep a globe in reach and spin it to each call, so children feel how the “Arctic Circle” and “Antarctic Circle” mirror each other.
-
Use a 3x3 card for kindergarten and first grade with the twelve big names, and a 5x5 card for older students who can find the “Bering Strait”.
-
Call until someone shouts bingo
With 30 cards, expect the first line near call 12 (Black Sea in this set's order) and a blackout near call 36; check the winner's squares against your ticked list.
